Don't buy the Bush spin that the lies about Iraq are only "16 words" -- the administration lied, deceived or committed outright fraud about every single point they used to justify invading Iraq (except to say that Saddam was an evil man.)
The "16 words" spin reveals just how shameless their lies are. Short lies don't matter? Well, Clinton got impeached for just 8 words -- "I did not have sex with that woman." Even by that ridiculous standard, Bush is twice as big a liar as Bill Clinton.
The uranium allegation (the "16 words") is famous because the fraud is so obvious. That charge, which Bush stated directly in his State of the Union speech, was based on blatantly forged documents -- one purported to be from a Niger official, to himself. The Bush Administration knew they were forged. They had been told several times that the charges were false, including by our own CIA and State Department. Bush and his top aides fought to put the words back in his speech, using weaselly phrasing -- Defense Secretary Rumsfeld has actually argued that the statement wasn't a lie because Bush didn't SAY Iraq did try to buy uranium, he just said "British intelligence HAS LEARNED that they tried to buy uranium." Once again, Bush imitates Clinton, arguing about what the meaning of "is" is.
Before considering each of the dozens of individual deceptions, lies and misleading statements that Bush and his aides used to push the US into war in Iraq, let's not lose track of the big picture. The Bush administration justified war, immediate war, because alleged weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Those weapons do not exist. They have not existed for years. The Bush adminstration knew this, because a top Iraqi defector told us this over 4 years ago, but they kept that information secret. And weapons of mass destruction were not the reason the Bush administration wanted to invade Iraq. Top officials have even admitted this, saying flat out that they had other reasons but chose WMD because it was the most effective argument politicially.
There were many other deceptive charges by the Bush administration -- about unmanned drones, orders to use chemical weapons, aluminum tubes, links between Iraq and Al Qaeda, etc. But don't forget the big picture. The Bush administration knew that there were no WMD in Iraq. They deliberately and consistently lied to the American people about this, to justify war in Iraq. And 300 US soldiers have died as a result.
Oh, and P.s. My brother leaves for Afganastan at the end of the month, and then goes to Iraq 3 times...keep in mind that he's not even 19...and he has a 50% chance of death.(Not necessarily, but I see it that way PATRICK)
So, the play is over but I have this trippy picture from this WILD makeup Lane did to me during practice one day. It's sooo cool, it doesn't look at GOTHIC as we were doing. I looked funny because well...I'M COLORFUL!!! I looked like a warewolf! I don't know how those uhmmm 'styles' do that every day!</p>
Oh and, YAY FOR ALL THE NEW THESPIANS!! I get to be one next year...damn Tigerettes.
The storm was so amazing last night! For those of you who were in it...you know! It was so nice. 75 degree weather, then lightning...then thunder, THEN HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF GALLONS OF WATER!!! It was so amazing. I had Tigerette/Protege auditions again this week. I know I made varsity again. The routine was really easy, but it was cute. It was to that song "Hit me with your best shot!"
May 5th, 6th, and 7th Dearly Departed opens. I suggest you go and see it!!! I MET THE THEATRE GHOST AT THS!!! AHHH! Taylor and I were down in the costume room when we met him. It was sooo weird. Yeah, well I'm in class, so I better go!
I saw Joe Satriani live!!! 2nd row! OH MY GOD! IT WAS INCREDIABLY THRILLING. I have no words to explain. WE MADE EYE CONTACT...although I can't 100% tell because...he had sunglasses on, I JUST KNOW! mwuahahaha.
So, I have Nick come over last night. We haven't seen eachother in weeks because she went out to dinner the day of state, annd I don't know she's busy a lot and so am I. We just hung around her house, and went to Elmers, washed a car you know THE USUAL. Then around 10pm we went to Bill's and started watching movies WHEN HIS HOUSE BEGAN TO FLOOD! One of the water pipes burst. Water was GUSHING out of the cubards in the kitchen, while it was squirting out of the sink in the bathroom. It was horrible atleast one hundred gallons of water was spilled inbetween this cement space and the stairs. It is baracated in our house somewhere, but we like can't find where. The pipes are illegily set in that house. They have the main water valve running to the FLIPPING WASHING MACHINE!!! ugh. It was horrible. We got through "The Silence of the Lambs," and then some of "Once upon a time in Mexico." We were way to tired to finish it, and watch "Pirates of the Caribbean." It was like 3:45am when we quit watching "Once upon a time in Mexico." Then we went to bed, and slept most of today.
The pope died. I'm sorry. He's in the running for a saint I heard.
I am 75% Hippie.
The man may have me down, but I am not out, man. I put up the good fight, and stink to high heaven. I should put down the blotter, and take a bath, man.
recent information: 2nd at State Championships. We actually TIED with Lincoln, and three judges came into our room telling us we actually won, we were robbed; they could have lost their jobs for that. We tied in ordinals 21-21. I'm not going to say anymore about what happened because I get that churning feeling in my stomach.
Friday we turned it on, but Saturday...Saturday we left people with their jaws dropped. It was great.
Today I got pictures developed from Winter Formal, Mexico, A PLAY FROM THE BEGGING OF 8TH GRADE 03'! bahaha, and I also have dance competition pictures.
well, March 4th us Tigerettes got the awesome experience to perform the pre-game of a Blazer Game. We used it as a dress rehearsal for the 5th. We had our Metro competition, which was also our lsat competition before state. Something weird happened to us that day. We get there, and you know like 2 hours before the competition begins we realize we forgot all the makeup at THS...it's an hour + drive there and back. So lInda had to go back, and while she was gone I got my period, had no underwear, and the worst cramps EVER!! Linda gets back, and I loose my cell phone, then we realize we also don't have our neck pieces, and Linda makes another trip. We got our makeup and everything done right before we went on. 1st round wasn't very good. It was obviously better then everyone else, but Lincoln. They started off HORRIBLY! I mean it was HORRID! Like I was laughing!!!!! They did this leap and landed so hard that they made their own music skip, so they got to start over. Of coarse it was like 10X better than before. Second round we rocked, I mean we had everyone on their feet, and everything. Lincoln doesn't really have a cheering section like we do. They have their parents, and friends. We have everyone, people we don't even know. That day we won this award for being the nicest, and sweetest team. It was almost as good as getting the gold. We ended the night with a 2nd place trophy. I knew that we were getting it because of second round. Now, we're working so hard to be the best we can be. We don't need to win (even though we are the best team, and everyone knows it) we just need to wow, which we ALWAYS do. (if you've come to a competition you obviously know)
Friday March 18th 5:30pm
Saturday March 19th 5:30pm
Memorial Collessium(sp?) go to Mapquest for directions.
Please come and support us, you really won't regret it!!!
Lately things have been off..nothing bad, just not a day the same. I had an interesting one today. It started off very nicely, then I hung out with Jess after school...and well let us just say I doubt barely any, if any will experience what happened there. We had a dance competition on Saturday, it was fun. We were robbed, that's all I can say. We were robbed. We got 2nd, need I say who won? No. I haven't seen Nicole in weeks. We barely talk anymore...I miss her. This Saturday is Sara's birthday...god I'm happy. Things will be put back into place then. YES.
It's 8:30 in the morning, My birthday was Wednesday the 26th, had finals week, plays over, theaters over, i had to miss a CHER!!! concert becuse of tigerettes, the sememsters over, i have 2 days to read a book, but everything is actually pretty good.
I went to Mexico...we got screwed over, so we had to try to go again the next day. Went it was fabulous...then I came back. Every single day I have been hanging out with someone. This is the first time I've been alone at my own house in a long time. The only reason is Bianca had dance. Our play sucks, the semester ends next week, I have a huge test wednesday that I know nothing for, I have a huge test for tomorrow that I know nothing for. I have about 5 hours of homework, oh and guess what. I haven't slept in two days. I'm just a big BUNDLE of joy right now. Patrick and I aren't really friends, I never see Marisa. Nick and I can rarely see each other. I'm jstu sick of all this bullshit, you know? Jess and I saw ghosts, we sat in a corner screaming and crying for an hour at Biancas. Dan her dad kicked us out around 3am so Jess, me, Bryan, Trevor, Nick, and Kevin were stranded. Bryan just drove us around all morning. We went downtown, we went to Yamhill a few times, West Lin, we went on a minni road trip. Later we decided to go to Washington to go to Bryan's dads and we hung out there for a few hours. Nick, Kevin, and Jess got some shut eye, and Bryan and I just hung out. I had to be home by 11:00am...but we didn't leave Bryans until like 10:30 and then we were stuck behind traffic. We got Bianca, and dropped off Jess. Bianca and I went to this Martin Luther King Jr. thing at Jefferson High School. It was funny when I first got there, this guy thought I was one of the performers, and he was telling me where to go. I fell asleep in it, well my eyes would randomly shut. Bianca and I were so hungry because the last time we had eaten was like 40 hours before hand. We got some Taco Bell came back to my house and I remember nothing. I got knocked out cold. I slept for like 30 minutes before I had to take Bianca to dance. She was going to live with me for a few days but her parents never left. It was odd. They were to leave by 8am this morning...obviously never happened. Let's see people I've hung out with lately. OH BOBBY! Erik, Brad, Nicole, Jess, Sara, and Bianca (those three obviously). WAIT! Biancas little brother wasn't there. I didn't have to deal with him. YES!
God I'm in a bad mood. I think someone knows why but yeah.
I have millions of pictures...I'll get around to posting in the future.
